Day 5: Ghent

We had 2 days that we could fill with activities we wanted to do without the teachers.

We chose to visit Ghent. It was a rainy day, but we didn't mind the weather.

We drank some hot chocolate milk to warm up, afterwards we walked through the city.

At noon we ate at the Quick, after everyone had their lunch we decided to visit The Castle of the Counts ('Het Gravensteen'). This important sight in Ghent is a castle about the political and social history of the city. It is the only remaining mediaeval castle with a moat and largely intact defence system in Flanders.

In the late afternoon we went shopping, and around 17h we took the train back home.
